I recently learned about the Mehta family and their journey to opening the British Swim School of Chesterfield, and it’s such an inspiring story! Vishal Mehta, the dad of two young kiddos (ages 6 and 8), was on a mission to find the perfect swim program. (You know how we all want our kids to be safe in the water, right?) Well, Vishal and his wife, who’s an Associate Professor at VCU, felt the same way. They searched high and low for a program that focused on water safety as much as swimming skills, and they found exactly what they were looking for with the British Swim School.

The British Swim School’s gentle teaching methods and survival-first approach really resonated with them. They loved how it wasn’t just about swimming laps but making sure every child—no matter their level—was safe and confident in the water. The fact that this school also had a strong community focus and used existing real estate to integrate into neighborhoods made it even more appealing.
The Mehtas were so inspired by what they found that they decided to bring this amazing program to Chesterfield! They’ve opened their own franchise, and their passion for water safety and love for their community shines through in everything they do. Lessons are 30 minute sessions and offered at the Country Inn & Suites right off 95 in Chester! With convenient evening pool hours (currently 3-7pm Sunday-Thursday) it’s the perfect time to get your kids in the pool learning how to be safe swimmers! Plus get out some of that pent up energy after school!
Currently, British Swim School is offering lessons for $120/month. At that price, you have one 30-minute lesson a week on the day of your choice. That breaks down to right around $30 per lesson which is such a great deal! You can always add more lessons for a discounted price if you feel your child needs more!
