Before assuming the role of Center Director/Instructor, I was a parent at this Center for 12 years. Witnessing the structure, discipline, and success that the program instilled in my daughters motivated me to take over the Center when the opportunity arose. After several months of intensive training, workshops, and examinations, I began my tenure as an instructor and have remained committed ever since. Before becoming a Kumon Instructor, I was a stay-at-home mother. From 2013 to 2018, I worked as a Library Assistant at Winterpock Elementary.
Kumon Swift Creek South is committed to serving as many students as possible in our surrounding communities. We aim for each of our students to realize the benefits and the key learning points embedded within our worksheets. Our curriculum is structured to guide students toward enriched experiences throughout their Kumon journey and develops them as a successful individual for life.
One of our students was having a challenging time learning the math facts. Oral drills were done, memorization was encouraged but none of it seemed to motivate the student. When I zeroed in on where the actual challenge began and lesson planned accordingly, something clicked in the student and an aha moment created for me. The student had a smile and I had a smile on my face too when I saw the student leaving with an elevated experience.
This is the KUMON program where a student goes from basics to breakthroughs!
